LAM Clinic is looking for an organized, patient-first Front Office Medical Assistant to be the welcoming first point of contact for our patients. This role keeps the front desk running smoothly — from check-in to scheduling to insurance verification — so our providers and clinical team can focus on delivering exceptional integrative care.
ABOUT THE ROLE
As the face of LAM Clinic, the Front Office Medical Assistant greets and checks in patients, manages scheduling, verifies insurance and collects payments, and keeps front-desk operations organized and accurate. You'll work closely with MAs, scribes, and providers to make sure every patient visit starts smoothly.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Greet patients warmly and manage check-in/check-out for all appointments
- Schedule, reschedule, and confirm patient appointments accurately per clinic scheduling protocols
- Verify insurance eligibility and benefits; collect co-pays, deductibles, and outstanding balances
- Answer and route incoming calls; respond to patient questions about scheduling, billing, and clinic policies
- Maintain accurate patient records and update demographic/insurance information in the EHR
- Coordinate with MAs, scribes, and providers to keep patient flow on schedule
- Manage the front office inbox, faxes, and referral paperwork
- Keep the front office and waiting area organized, stocked, and presentation-ready
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Medical Assistant certification a plus
- 1+ years of experience in a medical office, front desk, or customer service role
- Comfortable with EHR/scheduling software and general office technology
- Strong communication skills and a genuinely welcoming, patient-first attitude
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Basic understanding of medical insurance, co-pays, and billing procedures
- Reliable, punctual, and a team player
NICE TO HAVE
- Experience in a functional, integrative, or concierge medicine setting
- Bilingual (English/Spanish or other languages relevant to our patient population)
