Responsibilities
- Represent clients in family law cases, including divorce proceedings, child custody disputes, spousal support negotiations, and adoption processes
- Conduct thorough legal research utilizing tools such as LexisNexis and Westlaw to stay current on statutory laws and procedural updates
- Draft and review legal documents such as pleadings, motions, settlement agreements, and court depositions
- Prepare for trial by organizing evidence, developing case strategies, and participating in trial preparation activities
- Negotiate settlements that align with clients’ best interests while maintaining professional advocacy during mediations and negotiations
- Manage case files efficiently using legal case management software to ensure timely updates and compliance with court deadlines
- Communicate effectively with clients to explain legal options, progress updates, and procedural requirements throughout their cases
Skills
- Knowledge of family law procedures combined with familiarity in related areas such as estate planning, employment law, immigration law, landlord-tenant law, securities law, workers' compensation law, tribal law & regulations, patent law, personal injury law, environmental law, and general & commercial litigation
- Proven negotiation skills to facilitate favorable settlements for clients
- Strong research capabilities using LexisNexis and Westlaw for statutory legal research and case law analysis
- Exceptional legal writing skills for drafting pleadings, motions, contracts, and other legal documents
- Experience in court depositions and trial preparation to advocate effectively in litigation settings
- Ability to handle multiple cases efficiently while maintaining attention to detail and procedural accuracy
- Excellent client communication skills to foster trust and clarity during often sensitive legal proceedings

Pay: $60,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
