Responsibilities
- Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using proper patient transfer methods such as Hoyer lifts and manual handling techniques.
- Monitor patients’ vital signs and observe for any changes in health status, promptly reporting findings to healthcare professionals.
- Administer medications accurately following care plans and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality.
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to dietary needs and assist with meal planning and preparation.
- Support clients with memory care needs, including Alzheimer’s and dementia care, utilizing specialized techniques to enhance safety and comfort.
- Provide transportation assistance for medical appointments, errands, or community activities to promote social engagement and independence.
- Maintain detailed documentation of care provided, patient progress, and any incidents while adhering to all safety protocols including first aid and CPR procedures.
Experience
- Prior experience working in home health care or senior care environments is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, neurodevelopmental disorders, or autism spectrum disorder is advantageous.
- Knowledge of hospice care practices, patient monitoring techniques, and dementia or Alzheimer’s care strategies is desirable.
- Familiarity with care plans development and medication administration procedures is essential.
- Proven ability to perform heavy lifting safely and assist with patient transfers using equipment like Hoyer lifts or other transfer methods.
- Experience working within assisted living facilities or nursing homes provides valuable insight into long-term care standards.
- Strong communication skills for effective client interaction and collaboration with healthcare teams are necessary to succeed in this role.

Pay: $19.00 - $20.00 per hour
