Join our dynamic educational team as an SAT/ACT Verbal Test Prep Instructor and empower high school students to achieve their college admission goals! In this role, you will deliver engaging, effective test preparation instruction **in person** around Bergen County and Passaic County, NJ, at students' homes or at our center in Franklin Lakes, NJ. Your enthusiasm for helping students excel, in concert with the world-class training you'll receive from owner Scott Doty, will inspire confidence and foster academic growth. Session work is available 7 days a week, offering tremendous schedule flexibility. Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive SAT and ACT Verbal test preparation courses through in-person tutoring sessions, ensuring clarity and engagement.
- Develop and adapt lesson plans that incorporate test-taking strategies, curriculum standards, and educational technology tools to meet diverse student needs.
- Assess student progress regularly through formative assessments and adjust instruction accordingly to maximize learning outcomes.
- Collaborate with parents, school counselors, and other educators to track student progress and recommend additional resources or support as needed.
Requirements/Preferences
- Experience in SAT/ACT test preparation tutoring or course instruction with a strong understanding of standardized testing formats is PREFERRED, not required.
- A Bachelor's degree required.
- Prior teaching experience working with high school students or teenagers in classroom or private tutoring settings required.
- Excellent presentation skills with the ability to communicate complex concepts clearly and engagingly.
- High EQ and ability to adapt to the energies and styles of different students.
- A coaching mindset: focused on goals, motivating, organized.
- Experience working with diverse learners, including those requiring special education accommodations or adult education strategies, PREFERRED but not required.

Pay: $35.00 - $65.00 per hour
