JOB DESCRIPTION
POSITION: Welder/Fabricator
ANTICIPATED DATE REQUIRED: ACTIVE
PAY RANGE: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour – dependent upon qualifications/experience
DIRECT REPORT TO: Weld Lead/Supervisor (primary resource)
QUALIFICATIONS and JOB DESCRIPTION:
Qualified candidates will be responsible for planning, scheduling and the safe operation of all designated welding equipment. The welder will also be required to follow the appropriate plan(s) and Traveler Instructions in an effort to meet or exceed the estimated production goals while providing a safe and pleasant environment.
The position requires open communications and meeting attendance with all disciplines within the Metal Coatings and Manufacturing Co organization, including but not limited to, Sales, Administration, Quality and Production.
GENERAL ACTIVITIES:
- Handle and move objects
- Document and record information
- Communicate with people from outside the organization
- Make decisions and solve problems
- Communicate with supervisors, peers and subordinates
- Inspect equipment, structures, or material
- Fabrication and welding layout.
- Welding through MIG, TIG, Laser
- Reading blueprints
- Grinding and weld cleanup
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
A combination of relevant experience and education will be considered. Experience should be no less than 3 years in a progressively responsible position performing general maintenance functions and familiarity with ISO 9001:2008 experience is preferred. The ideal candidate will have the ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Candidates must interpret, communicate, and respond professionally to a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, blue print or schedule form and must possess the ability to think strategically with a high degree of planning and organizational skills.
