American Traveler is hiring an LPN for a Medical-Surgical unit at an acute care Magnet-recognized teaching hospital in Rochester, NY, requiring an active NY LPN license and acute care experience.

Work in a complex care Medical-Surgical unit serving medicine, ortho overflow, and complex long-term patients at a 528-bed acute care Magnet-recognized teaching hospital in Rochester, NY
-
Unit is associated with advanced specialty programs including cardiovascular, oncology, neuroscience, and surgical services
-
Patient ratio of 1:5–6
-
13-week assignment with a day/night rotation schedule (3x12-hour shifts, 7a–7p / 7p–7a)
-
Every other weekend required
-
Every other holiday coverage required as needed
-
Floating within skillset required
-
EMR: Epic experience required
-
Skills required include blood product administration, central line care/management, peripheral line care/management, phlebotomy, PICC line management, and IV start/maintenance
-
Additional skills required include HFNC, nasal cannula, oxygen administration, trach care/management, feeding tube care/management, heparin protocols, pacemaker management (temporary and permanent), and telemetry monitoring

Experience with wound care/wound vac, surgical drains, ortho trauma, total joint replacements, rapid response/code teams, and isolation precautions required

Scrub color: any combination of navy blue and white

Active New York single-state LPN license required at start of assignment (NY is not a Compact state)

Minimum 1 year of LPN experience required

Acute care experience within the last 2 years required

Current BLS certification required
-
Epic EMR experience required
-
All time-off and scheduling requests must be submitted at the time of initial consideration

2 professional supervisory references from within the past 2 years required for consideration

Full 7-year work history with all gaps explained required for consideration

LPN works with their own patient assignment under the support of an RN
