Contract: W2 only, 5-month contract with potential for extension or conversion to full time with either the client or CEI
This role involves field-based construction and quality audits for overhead and underground network infrastructure, primarily focusing on fiber and coaxial cable projects. The position requires extensive fieldwork, coordination with contractors, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards. Candidates should be prepared for travel and variable schedules.
Ensures the execution of overhead/underground construction duties such as: placing hard-line Connectivity & Platforms, framing and strand poles, transferring facilities between poles, placing Connectivity & Platforms in joint trench, and safe operation of construction vehicles and Connectivity & Platforms trailers.
Investigates and monitors accurate record keeping concerning project start, milestone dates, production logs, material costs, and labor expenditures.
Instructs work site safety standards; conducts work site visits to ensure compliance with safety standards and participates in regular safety meetings with the crew.
Supports Specialists and leadership team with coordination of projects.
Generates logs and reports on construction, projects, materials, and expenditures.
Reviews, resolves, follows-up customer requests and complaints.
Monitors performance of construction crew to established goals and objectives.
Regular, consistent, and punctual attendance; ability to work nights and weekends, variable schedules, and overtime as necessary.
Coordinates and supervises the daily activities of business support, technical, or production staff who perform tasks in the same function.
Sets priorities for the team; assigns tasks and checks work at regular intervals.
Responsible for ensuring all work performed on the project meets or exceeds Comcast, Local, State, or Federal standards and regulations.
Updating the JT or Polaris entry (job docs/maps) QC for path verification.
Primary contractor interface day-to-day in the field and in turn acts as the NGAN liaison with the Regional network Technicians.
Ensures new or upgraded power supply is in place and operational prior to cut date.
Overall responsibility of the quality of the NGAN product: from the contractor building to the operations handoff.
Conducts construction quality audits in the field (80%) and performs some office PC work (20%).
Wide range of inspections on nodes, amplifiers, power supplies, fiber taps, enclosures, etc.
Completes audits, documentation, verifies and reviews audit rework repairs, and ensures timely completion.
Responsible for assigned audits, verifying work, and troubleshooting via phone or Teams calls.
May be required to travel to job sites 3-4 hours away, with hotel stays arranged as needed.
Maintains communication with BPs and participates in team calls.
Ensures daily tasks are completed efficiently, with a focus on individual accountability in a dispersed team environment.
Coax and fiber construction experience.
Basic computer experience to use Microsoft, Smartsheets, Teams, P2.
Network Maintenance Technician experience a plus.
Ability to read design prints.
Willingness to travel as needed.
Reliable transportation.
Experience in construction quality audits.
Ability to perform inspections on nodes, amplifiers, power supplies, fiber taps, enclosures, etc.
Strong organizational skills to manage multiple audits and documentation.
Ability to work independently in a dispersed team environment.
Good communication skills for troubleshooting and coordination.
Flexibility to work variable schedules, including nights and weekends.
