Leapros Skilled Trades is actively hiring Spotter in Airway Heights, WA. The Spotter is responsible for ensuring the safety of personnel and equipment by monitoring lifting or moving operations in an electrical service environment. This role acts as a critical safety observer, maintaining clear communication with operators and technicians to prevent accidents and maintain site integrity.
Job Type: Contract
Pay: $20 to $25 Per Hour BOE
Responsibilities:
- Provide clear and consistent hand signals or radio communication to equipment operators
- Maintain a continuous line of sight with operators and the surrounding work area at all times
- Monitor for potential hazards including overhead power lines, obstacles, and unauthorized personnel
- Ensure work areas are secured and that safe exclusion zones are maintained during operations
- Verify that equipment is positioned safely and loads are properly balanced before movement
- Communicate immediate "stop" orders if unsafe conditions or hazards are detected
- Assist in the preparation of work zones to minimize risks to technicians and the public
- Stay alert and focused in active commercial service environments to maintain situational awareness
Qualifications:
- Previous experience working on commercial construction or electrical service job sites
- Demonstrated knowledge of standard hand signals for heavy equipment and lifting operations
- Ability to strictly follow safety protocols and maintain compliance with OSHA standards
- Strong observational skills and the ability to remain vigilant for extended periods
- Effective verbal communication skills to relay instructions clearly and quickly
- Capacity to work effectively in a contract-based, project-driven environment
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand and walk for the duration of a shift
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and extreme temperatures
- Capable of climbing stairs and ladders as needed to access work areas
- Adequate hearing and vision sensitivity to detect hazards and communicate with teams in noisy environments
Pay Transparency:
The anticipated pay range for this position is $20 to $25 per hour, based on relevant factors such as experience, skills, education, internal equity, and geographic location. Final compensation will be determined during the interview process by the hiring authority.
