Responsibilities
- Lead the preparation and presentation of sushi and other Japanese dishes, maintaining authentic flavors and artistic plating standards
- Supervise kitchen staff, including training, scheduling, and ensuring adherence to food safety and sanitation protocols
- Manage inventory control, including ordering supplies, monitoring stock levels, and minimizing waste
- Oversee food production processes to ensure consistency, quality, and timely delivery during service hours
- Collaborate with restaurant management on menu planning, special event catering, and seasonal updates
- Enforce strict food handling procedures and safety regulations to uphold health standards
- Maintain a clean, organized kitchen environment conducive to efficient workflow and team collaboration
Requirements
- Proven culinary experience in sushi preparation and Japanese cuisine, with a strong background in fine dining settings
- Supervising or team management experience within a restaurant or hospitality environment
- Knowledge of food safety standards and best practices in food handling and sanitation
- Experience with inventory management, food production, and kitchen operations management
- Familiarity with banquet service, catering, and large-scale food service operations is a plus
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop team members
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment

Pay: $22.00 - $23.00 per hour
