Carpenter
SUMMARY:
Reporting directly to Superintendent/Supervisor will complete carpentry related tasks and projects in a timely manner within company guidelines.
MINIMUM DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Ability to lift 40 lbs.

Perform physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping and handling of materials.

Must be able to successfully communicate in English.

Must have reliable transportation including:
-
Maintain a favorable DMV report.
-
Non-expired/current California state driver’s license.
-
Proof of valid auto insurance in your name.
-
Able and willing to get to jobsites with tools on time
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:

Exhibit proficiency with Essential Job Duties as listed in “Carpenter Apprentice” job description.

Take instruction and follow directions with limited interaction from Foremen and Superintendents to see tasks completed correctly and timely.

Exhibit proficiency with all power tools. Ability to assess useful life of tools and take precautions or action to maintain a safe work environment.

Leadership role with regard to safety policies and company rules.
-
Solid math skills.

Critical thinking and problem solving skills.

Analyze project and plan ahead for upcoming work week with regard to labor and materials.

Ability to read and understand blueprints, doing material take offs, laying out framing and finish items like cabinets according to dimensions and specifications detailed in plans.

Foundations, rough framing, windows.

Exhibit proficiency in finish carpentry work,i.e. installation of doors, cabinets, trim and crown.

Work independently in all phases of job.

Ability to meet deadlines in a high work flow environment.

Good communication skills, able to relay messages or problems to Carpenter Foreman. Communicate with homeowners in a professional manner.

Interact with inspectors in the absence of a foreman or Superintendent.

Maintain good working relationships with customers, co-workers, and staff.

Complete job related tasks in a safe manner by adhering to appropriate safety regulations.
