We are seeking a motivated and skilled Concrete Form Setter to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing and securing formwork for concrete structures, ensuring precise alignment and stability to facilitate high-quality concrete pours. Your expertise will contribute to the successful completion of various construction projects, from commercial buildings to residential developments. Duties
- Set up and assemble formwork systems using hand tools, power tools, and heavy equipment, ensuring compliance with blueprints and technical drawings.
- Interpret construction plans, schematics, and specifications to accurately construct form structures tailored to project requirements.
- Install rebar reinforcement within formwork to strengthen concrete structures according to safety standards and design specifications.
- Operate concrete mixers, pumps, and other machinery necessary for efficient concrete pouring and finishing processes.
- Ensure all formwork is properly aligned, levelled, and secured to withstand the pressure of poured concrete while adhering to safety protocols.
- Collaborate with carpenters, masons, welders, and other tradespeople on-site to coordinate tasks effectively during renovation or new construction projects.
- Perform routine inspections of formwork for stability, integrity, and safety; make adjustments or repairs as needed before concrete placement.
- Follow construction safety regulations diligently, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), heavy lifting techniques, and hazard awareness during all phases of work.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in construction environments with a focus on concrete forming or related trades such as carpentry or masonry.
- Strong mechanical knowledge including familiarity with power tools, hand tools, heavy equipment operation, and schematics interpretation.
- Ability to read blueprints, technical drawings, and construction plans accurately for formwork construction and placement.
- Knowledge of construction workplace safety regulations and best practices for working at heights, heavy lifting, and handling hazardous materials.
- Skilled in rebar installation, concrete cutting, pouring, finishing, and related tasks like caulking or stucco application when applicable.
- Experience with blueprint specification interpretation and schematics necessary for precise form setup.
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting, work at heights if needed (such as roofing or scaffolding), and operate various construction machinery safely.
- Valid experience working on diverse construction projects including commercial sites or renovation efforts; familiarity with restoration processes is a plus.
