Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and quality standards, ensuring consistency and presentation excellence
- Assist in menu planning by providing input on ingredient selection and dish preparation techniques
- Handle food with care, adhering strictly to food safety management practices and safety standards in production
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, including proper knife skills and slicing techniques for efficient food prep
- Follow all food handling protocols to ensure safety standards are met at every stage of food production
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations and timely service delivery
Requirements
- Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or restaurant environments with a focus on kitchen experience or the food industry
- Knowledge of dietary department practices or dietary aide experience is a plus
- Familiarity with food safety standards, including proper food handling, sanitation, and safety procedures in production environments
- Ability to work in a fast-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail and quality control
- Experience cooking in a high volume Kitchen is highly desirable
- Excellent teamwork skills with a proactive attitude towards learning new culinary techniques and contributing to a positive kitchen atmosphere
