Millwright/Mechanic Position
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Proficient in diagnosing mechanical problems, dismantling mechanical equipment, securing correct parts repairing and reassembling mechanical equipment including pumps, compressors, agitators, centrifuges, conveyors, and gearboxes.
- Reads blueprints, manufacturers' manuals and specification sheets to identify parts by number and cross reference as needed.
- Layout, drill and tap pump bases and foundations.
- Troubleshoot all types of pumps, disassemble, repair and reassemble.
- Install shaft couplings.
- Perform alignment of shaft couplings.
- Inspect, repair/replace mechanical shaft seals.
- Assist in repairing reciprocating, centrifugal and axial flow compressors, including component parts.
- Inspect and repair standard gear boxes.
- Perform preventative maintenance using nondestructive techniques as well as tear down and inspect method.
- Interprets blue prints to select type and size of pipe, and related materials and equipment, such as supports and hangers.
- Must be able to measure and field sketch needed components, fabricate and install.
- Knowledge and use of ANGUS piping specifications.
- Fabricate, install and repair piping systems, including process, plumbing, and firewater systems in shop and field locations.
- Fabricate hose assemblies.
- Hydrotest hose and piping system components.
- Perform nondestructive PM on steam traps and repair as needed.
- Service and repair piping valves and process line filters.
- Make on-line pipe taps (hot taps) on piping systems.
- Install tubing systems.
- Identify and properly use wire rope, nylon slings, pulleys, winches, blocks, and sheaves, according to weight and size of load to be moved.
- Attaches pulley and blocks to fixed overhead structures such as beams, ceilings, and gin pole booms with bolts and clamps.
- Attaches load with grappling devices such as loops, wires, ropes, and chains to crane hook.
- Rig as needed for the removal/installation of the following: (a) compressors, (b) gearboxes, (c) centrifuges, (d) tanks, (e) Ion exchangers, (f) all types of pumps, (g) screens, (h) piping, and (i) structural steel.
- Gives directions to Crane Operator or Flagman engaged in hoisting and moving loads to ensure safety of workers and material handled.
- Operate mobile hydraulic cranes.
- Operate all trucks, including winch truck.
- Build complex scaffolds and work platforms.
- Change packing and trays in towers and columns.
- Transport compressed gas cylinders and drums throughout plant.
- Follows the ANGUS Maintenance Work Process by doing the following: Review the job package and check if work can be carried out safely and according to the job package.
- Obtain the safe work permit.
- Perform the tasks listed in the job package.
- If significant additional problems are identified during the job that may need a new work order, thoroughly investigate the source / cause of the problem
- Complete the work and return equipment to operations.
- Assist in the analysis to ensure the problem is corrected.
- Complete input for updating (SAP / equipment files / engineering files, etc.)
- Apply the skills of respective trade / craft / discipline in executing maintenance work.
- Leverage trade skills to apprentice and other maintenance associates.
- Assist in the development of maintenance work procedures.
- Provide regular feedback on job plan / package in order to improve archive plan
- Document / record history on work order paper work before handing in
- Provide input to maintenance planning
- Follows job plan to complete work.
- Follows standard work procedures where available.
Pay: $40.00 - $46.49 per hour
