Position: Church Administrator
Accountable to:
Church Council; Senior Pastor
Supervises:
All church staff not supervised by the Senior Pastor or Board of Elders (examples: bookkeeper, support staff, maintenance, janitorial staff and volunteers)
Qualifications:
- An associate degree in business, office management, or related field or equivalent experience in a similar position
- 4 years’ office or administrative experience
- 4 years’ management experience
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and time management skills
- Ability to keep confidential and sensitive information
- A commitment to standing as a moral and upstanding representative of the Christian Church community

Purpose:
The church administrator manages the daily operations of the church through supervising staff and volunteers, managing the church’s schedule of events, ensuring the effective use of church income, and keeping accurate records. The Church Administrator works with the community, and supports the pastor and other church staff members. The Church Administrator also acts as the Church Secretary.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Managing daily operations and maintaining office supplies and records
- Provides all required secretarial services
- Recruiting, hiring, training, and scheduling of staff and volunteers to assist in the efficient functioning of the Church. All church staff not supervised by the Senior Pastor or Board of Elders (examples: bookkeeper, support staff, maintenance, and janitorial staff)
- Carrying out the management responsibilities of the Church Administrator on behalf of the Council in the following areas: Fiscal management Property management
- Manages campus security systems and coordinates all IT management with our current IT provider
- Facilitating church communications and publications, creating and distributing bulletins, newsletters, social media and daily mail
- Creating and publishing Worship Service slides and bulletins
- Maintaining the Church website
- Coordinating, planning, and executing Church, School and ECDC events in collaboration with staff and action teams
- Working together with the Senior Pastor in executing the policies of the Board of Elders and Church Council
- Attending all Council meetings unless specifically excused by the Council at a previous Council meeting or in the event of personal emergency
- Attending all School Board meetings unless specifically excused by the School Board chairperson or in the event of personal emergency
- Attending all Elders meetings unless specifically excused by the Head Elder or in the event of personal emergency
- Human resource management:
- Legal management
- Contract management and negotiation
- Social ministries management
- Drafting and maintaining job descriptions and call documents for all Church, School and Early Childhood Development Center (ECDC) School staff
- Financial reporting and oversight
- Risk management (insurance)
- Monitoring all accounting activities by means of reviewing and auditing the P&L and Balance Sheet
- Work with the Treasurer to create the annual budget. Collaborating and acting as a subject matter expert for business-related functions of Board of Elders and School Board. More specifically collaboration related to execution of: Budget creation
- Other duties may be assigned by the Church Council or Senior Pastor
