Pangea (formerly GST AutoLeather, Inc.) is a premier global provider of leather upholstery for automotive seating and trim, and supplies many of the world’s major OEM’s, including Toyota, Honda, Nissan, GM, FCA, Volkswagen, and BMW, among others.
This position reports to the Senior Director of Global Design.
General Description
- Collaborates with global cross-functional teams comprised of designers, engineers, sales, and marketing to contribute to and support the development of superior automotive leather products.
- Supports our design OEM customers through design and advanced sales by building customer relationships and becoming their trusted advisor.
- Focus on specific OEM customers and programs to help drive company sales.
- Responsible for leather construction and color development.
- Responsible for creating enrichment designs from concepts to prototypes to production.
- Responsible for creating and promoting Pangea’s sustainability initiatives.
- Work closely with product development engineers to obtain customer design approvals and mastering.
- Present trend shows and design briefs to customers.
- Research global trends and technologies, helping drive innovation.
- Responsible for design project management duties, including tracking projects, action items, and timing.
- Bachelor’s degree required, major or significant coursework in Art, Graphic Design, or related disciplines highly preferred.
- Minimum of three years of related automotive experience.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Fluent in English.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Creative Suite.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently on an assignment.
- Ability to work collaboratively as a member of a team.
- Ability and willingness to travel.
