Lead Packing & Fulfillment Associate | Boulder, CO (In person!)
$24/hr · ~28–32 hrs/week average (some weeks lighter around 25, some weeks busier up to 40) · Clear path to a leadership role
About us
We're ArtFair Apparel, a small, growing ecommerce brand based in Boulder! At our core, we're a creative, mission-driven team first. We launched a couple years ago and we're growing fast (and having a blast doing it). We work out of a small office/fulfillment space here in Boulder, our tees are screen printed at a separate print shop in Denver, and we're looking for someone genuinely excited to join us assembling and mailing our Snail Mail Club monthly mailings and packing tee orders that come in each day. We officially send out the Snail Mail letters the first week of each month, but we're looking to spread out the workload throughout a few weeks. Both tshirt mailings and snail mail are equally central to what we do here, and Snail Mail Club in particular is a quickly growing part of what we do.
Every single mailing we send and every design we print tells an artist's story, and that mission is at the center of everything we do -- including how we pack and ship every order. We're looking for someone who feels that too!
What you'll be doing
- Assembling and mailing our Snail Mail Club packages — this is ongoing work spread across multiple weeks. As materials come together, you'll collate each piece of the mailing (the artist print, sticker, artist letter, and any extras) carefully build out envelopes so every single one feels like a little gift when it's opened, hand-stamp and prep them and double- and triple-check addresses and contents along the way. Accuracy and detail is everything to us!
- Packing tee orders like each one is a gift (because to us, it kind of is): this is daily/multiple times a week, ongoing work right alongside Snail Mail Club fulfillment during those mailing prep weeks
- Keeping things organized and moving, especially during our "oh my gosh we just went viral" moments
- Catching little quality hiccups before they ever reach a customer
- Jumping in on other organization and fulfillment odds and ends as they pop up
- Growing with us: we're expecting high demand for packing help in the months ahead, so we're looking for someone who'll start out packing tee orders and Snail Mail Club mailings and is excited to grow quickly into a lead role — still packing yourself, but also managing and supporting a small team of fulfillment associates, taking real ownership over how packing and fulfillment runs, and growing into that responsibility as we scale — realistically within the next 2.5 to 5 months.
Who we're looking for
More than anything, we're looking for someone who's genuinely excited about this role and about ArtFair itself! This is a creative, mission-driven team, and every Snail Mail Club envelope we assemble and every tee we pack is a small extension of an artist's story getting out into the world. We want someone who feels that when they're working & someone who'd genuinely enjoy spending their days steadily building out Snail Mail Club mailings throughout the month and packing tee orders, making sure every single package feels special because they actually care about the artists and the mission behind it, not just because it's the job. Someone who notices when a corner's not quite lined up, or when a mailing is missing a sticker!
You'll start out packing and we're specifically looking for someone who wants to grow from there into leading and managing other packing associates as we scale, someone who takes real personal accountability for how things run, gets fired up about our artists and our mission, believes in the company, and sees this as a genuine, integral role in where we're headed.
You might be our person if...
- You're in or around Boulder and can work in person
- You get genuinely excited about the artists and the mission behind ArtFair — this isn't just tees to you
- You're the friend who notices when a picture frame is 2° crooked
- You can commit to a steady ~28–32 hr/week schedule on average, with flexibility for both lighter and much busier weeks
- You're excited about growing into a leadership role, managing mutiple employees down the line (starting out packing and want to grow into leading and managing a team of packers)
- You take ownership and personal accountability seriously, and want that to grow as the company grows
- You love the idea of a small, creative team where your voice actually counts for something
- Bonus points if you're crafty, artsy, or just really into a satisfying, organized workspace
A little more about us
We're ArtFair Apparel, a small, growing apparel brand based in Boulder. We run the ArtFair Snail Mail Club + we also screen-print original artist designs onto really good tees, working with Colorado (and beyond!) artists to help share their work and stories with the world. We've got lots of different designs from lots of different artists, with new ones added all the time. 10% of every sale goes straight to the artist who made it, and 10% of our profits go to nonprofits our artists pick themselves. We found most of our artists by literally driving around Colorado and Wyoming and knocking on doors because we loved their work that much (yes, really). We're kinda obsessed with the customer experience, and every package that goes out the door, whether it's a Snail Mail Club envelope or a tee order, means so much to us!
