Responsibilities
- Assist with reading and interpreting construction plans, blueprints, and technical drawings to ensure accurate execution of project specifications.
- Perform manual handling tasks such as lifting, carrying, and positioning materials and equipment safely across the site.
- Operate power tools and basic machinery while following proper safety procedures to support various construction activities.
- Support heavy lifting operations by coordinating with team members and utilizing appropriate equipment for safe material movement.
- Follow all workplace safety regulations, including OSHA safety standards, respiratory protection protocols, and climbing safety procedures.
- Conduct routine inspections of tools, equipment repair needs, and site conditions to maintain a safe working environment.
- Assist with the installation of construction components, including framing, roofing, or structural supports as directed by supervisors.
- Support site cleanup efforts to maintain a tidy work area that promotes safety and efficiency throughout the project lifecycle.
Qualifications
- Prior experience in industrial or commercial construction environments is preferred but not mandatory; a strong willingness to learn is essential.
- Ability to read construction plans and technical drawings accurately; familiarity with blueprint reading is a plus.
- Mechanical knowledge related to equipment operation and basic repairs enhances your effectiveness on-site.
- Physical stamina for manual handling tasks such as heavy lifting, climbing ladders or scaffolding, and working in various weather conditions.
- Strong commitment to workplace safety practices and adherence to all safety regulations at all times.
- Good communication skills for collaborating effectively with team members and supervisors.
