St. Croix Dock is a trusted local company specializing in the installation, removal, service, and repair of docks and boat lifts. Based in St. Croix Falls, Wisconsin, we serve lakefront homeowners and cabin owners throughout the surrounding area.
We take pride in dependable service, skilled workmanship, and strong customer relationships. We are looking to add a reliable, motivated Service Technician to our team who is willing to work hard, think through problems, and take pride in doing the job right.
Position Overview
The Service Technician is a hands-on position responsible for helping install, remove, repair, and maintain docks, boat lifts, and related marine equipment during the spring, summer, and fall seasons.
During the fall and winter months, the role shifts toward facilities maintenance, equipment upkeep, vehicle maintenance, property care, snow removal, and general repair projects. For the right person, there may also be opportunities to learn outboard motor service and marine equipment maintenance.
This position is a good fit for someone who enjoys physical outdoor work, has mechanical aptitude, uses common sense, communicates well, and can work as part of a team without needing constant supervision. We are willing to train the right person, but we are looking for someone who is dependable, capable, and willing to learn.
Primary Responsibilities
- Assist with the installation, removal, service, and repair of docks and boat lifts at customer locations.
- Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on docks, lifts, and related marine equipment.
- Help maintain company trucks, trailers, tools, equipment, and job materials so they are organized and ready for daily use.
- Load, transport, unload, and organize materials and equipment safely and efficiently.
- Support general property maintenance, including mowing, snow removal, building maintenance, cleaning, and small repair projects.
- Work closely with other technicians to complete jobs safely, efficiently, and to company standards.
- Use hand tools, power tools, trailers, and equipment properly and safely.
- Think through problems in the field and help find practical solutions when unexpected issues come up.
- Follow all company safety procedures and job-site expectations.
- Represent St. Croix Dock professionally when working at customer properties.
Qualifications
- Experience with docks, boat lifts, construction, landscaping, mechanical work, equipment operation, or outdoor labor is helpful, but not required.
- Mechanical aptitude and familiarity with hand tools, power tools, trailers, and basic equipment.
- Ability to perform physically demanding work in a variety of weather conditions.
- Ability to lift, carry, bend, climb, and work around water, docks, lifts, tools, and equipment.
- Reliable attendance and a strong work ethic are required.
- Must be able to listen, follow directions, and also think independently when needed.
- Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn new skills.
- Good communication skills and a positive attitude when working with coworkers and customers.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record is required.
- Commitment to safety, quality work, and taking care of company equipment and customer property.
