About the role
The Asset Domain Data Manager is anew data steward role created to uphold the integrity and reliability of assetdata across CBRE Investment Management’s global platform. Asset data underpinsevery dimension of what we do from investment decision-making and active assetmanagement to performance monitoring and client reporting. In this role youwill be at the forefront of eliminating data risks and managing data operationsto ensure our investment professionals and clients can rely on accurate,complete, consistent and well-governed asset data.
Working at the intersection ofinvestment operations, data governance and technology and in support of theAsset Domain Data Trustee and sub domain trustees, you will own second-linedata quality analysis, root cause investigation and the design of controls,rules and remediation measures.
What You’ll Do
Review overnight data quality dashboards and exception reports, triaging open Asset DQIs, reaching out to business data stewards to resolve issues and escalating systemic problems to the Data Trustee
Profile a complex asset data sample, investigating anomalies in financial performance metrics, conducting root cause analysis and documenting findings and recommended controls
Author or update data quality rules and definitions in the data governance tooling, ensuring rules are clearly documented with business rationale, ownership and expected outcomes
Facilitate a working session with investment or finance colleagues to align on a data definition discrepancy, driving agreement on standard attribute definitions, acceptable values and ownership accountability
Engage a business stakeholder on an open compliance gap, and communicating the issue clearly, understanding the operational context and agreeing a practical and time-bound remediation plan
Participate in Domain Data Council meeting, presenting a structured update on asset domain data quality trends, open DQIs and active continuously improvement programs
Collaborate with Digital & Technology on requirements for a new data product or integration involving asset data, providing domain expertise on data structures, quality standards and business logic
Identify an opportunity to enhance first-line data quality monitoring through an automated rule or agentic workflow, and document the business case for the Data Council
Contribute to training or guidance materials for business data stewards on asset data standards, governance expectations and how to use data quality tooling effectively
What You’ll Need
At least five years of hands-on experience with asset data in real estate investment management, a REIT, commercial real estate service provider with strong familiarity with the data structures, terminology and complexity inherent in real assets private equity
You have a bachelor’s degree, or equivalent professional experience, in Data Science/ Analytics, Finance, Real Estate, Technology or a related field; a data governance or data management certification (e.g. CDMP, DCAM, OSCRE) is advantageous
You are aware of the regulatory environment relevant to investment management data — including fiduciary duties and the implications of FCA, SEC or AIFMD requirements for data integrity and reporting
You have strong analytical and investigative skills and can profile large, complex datasets, identify root causes of data quality issues and design practical, sustainable controls and remediation approaches
You are skilled in data programming languages (eg. SQL, Python, R) and related tools and applications
You build positive and productive relationships with stakeholders across investment, finance and technology functions, are assertive and clear when raising compliance gaps but collaborative and solutions-focused in how you resolve them
You work in a systematic and precise manner, are comfortable managing multiple open issues concurrently and take personal accountability for the quality and accuracy of your outputs
You are intellectually curious about data, technology and investment management operations, and have an appetite to develop your skills in areas such as data engineering, AI-assisted quality monitoring or agentic automation

CBRE Investment Management carefully considers multiple factors to determine compensation, including a candidate’s education, training, and experience. The minimum salary for this position is $135,000 annually and the maximum salary for the position is $145,000 annually. The compensation that is offered to a successful candidate will depend on the candidate’s skills, qualifications, and experience. Successful candidates may also be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on CBRE’s applicable benefit program.
