Schedules and prepares patients for diagnostic x-rays. Loads film holders and cassettes. Takes and prepares diagnostic x-rays.
Transports patients to and from radiology. Returns patients to rooms after completion of treatment or study.
Requisitions drugs and supplies to maintain adequate inventory in examination room.
Under direction of physician, administers intravenous media and inserts urethral catheters. Monitors patient reactions to procedures performed.
Marks and sorts film for filing. Prepares x-ray envelopes and records. Files films and records.
Operates computerized equipment and assists in making simple repairs to equipment.
Assists in in-service orientation of newly hired departmental personnel.
Serves as clinical instructor for radiology students including direct supervision of radiology students until they achieve competency and indirect supervisor of radiology students after they achieve competency. Evaluates students on their competency and completes monthly clinical rotation forms.
Assists in cleaning diagnostic rooms and equipment. Makes simple repairs to equipment as required.
May assist Special Procedures/CT Technologists in performing special examinations.
