We are seeking a highly skilled Sr. Crane Inspection & Service Technician who is looking for a unique opportunity to help us manage the growth of our inspection and repair service division.
Our company is a 35-year-old, well established crane manufacturer who represents major companies such as Columbus McKinnon, EMH, Conductix, Duct O Bar, Spanco, and Thern Products. New ownership began a period of significant growth and we are looking for the next talented individual to be a part of our exciting and fast growing team.
You must have a proven track record in crane repair including a strong electrical and mechanical background. You should be able to perform routine inspections, preventative maintenance to overhead cranes, wire rope and chain hoists. Ability to inspect, repair and install a variety of electrification methods including Figure 8, Cable Reel and Hanging Festoon systems is required.
Other responsibilities will include:
- Perform duties in a safe and professional manner following our rules and those of the customer.
- Treat our customers, vendors and colleagues with the highest respect and professionalism.
- Provide troubleshooting and critical thinking skills to diagnose, document and repair equipment malfunctions.
- Ability to document issues and recommend appropriate solutions to resolve the repair.
- Be available on-call and after-hours to perform repair services.
- Minimal overnight travel may be required.
A qualified candidate will be required to pass drug, alcohol, background and motor vehicle checks and must meet the following:
- Comfortable to work in elevated conditions utilizing scissor lifts or other means of safety accessing crane equipment.
- 5+ years of previous crane and hoist repair experience including VFD, Radio Control and Collision Avoidance systems.
- Ability to understand OSHA, ANSI, CMAA, HMI and other codes or regulations pertaining to the crane and hoist industry.
- Able to lift up to 50 pounds and sit or stand for long periods of time.
- Friendly and able to communicate with customers in a professional manner.
- Must have a good driving record with valid driver’s license.
- Previous crane or hoist schooling is a plus.
