Position Summary
Beaver Creek Construction & Maintenance LLC is seeking a motivated Locator I to join our damage prevention team. This is an entry-level field position with paid, on-the-job training. Utility locating experience is not required; however, construction or related outdoor field experience is required.
The Locator I is responsible for assisting in the identification and marking of underground utilities while working throughout Ohio, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia. This position involves significant outdoor work, walking long distances, navigating wooded terrain, climbing hills, and working in all weather conditions.

Responsibilities
- Learn utility locating methods and damage prevention practices
- Assist with locating and marking underground utilities
- Perform field investigations and utility verification activities
- Walk utility corridors, rights-of-way, construction sites, and wooded areas
- Read maps, sketches, utility records, and GPS data
- Operate utility locating equipment and GPS devices
- Accurately document work using company software and mobile applications
- Maintain company vehicles, tools, and equipment
- Communicate professionally with contractors, utility operators, landowners, and coworkers
- Follow all company safety policies and client requirements
- Represent Beaver Creek Construction & Maintenance in a professional manner at all times
Physical Requirements
This position is physically demanding and applicants should be comfortable:
- Walking several miles per day
- Working in wooded areas, fields, and active construction sites
- Climbing hills and traversing uneven terrain
- Crossing streams, ditches, and rough ground
- Working outdoors in rain, snow, heat, cold, mud, and dust
- Lifting and carrying equipment weighing up to 50 pounds
- Entering and exiting company vehicles frequently throughout the day
This is not a warehouse, factory, or office position. Most days are spent outdoors working in the field. Candidates should expect to spend significant time walking through woods, crossing rough terrain, and working in all weather conditions.
Pay: From $20.00 per hour
