Arcadis DPS Engineering are seeking a Mechanical Project Engineer for a pharmaceutical assignment located in Ringaskiddy, Cork. This is a 12-month contract. The role covers all project phases—design, construction, commissioning, and qualification—while ensuring robust communication among stakeholders and compliance with quality and safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and Participate in Design, Construction and C&Q activities on site.
- Lead projects for facility modifications and capital equipment procurement.
- Assist the Capital Projects Manager in the planning and tracking of activities
- Liaise with the various stakeholders on the projects to ensure clear communication between all parties.
- Provide technical process support to the project team throughout the project life cycle.
- Generate and execute Commissioning & Qualification activities if there is a requirement
- Generate change controls on Electronic QMS and drive their closure in a timely manner
- Review turnover documentation from vendors.
- Setup and review of contracts with Legal Representatives
- Assist in the setup of a capital project programme
- Responsibility for direct supervision of vendor engineers and contractors during engineering works on single or multiple capital projects.
- Use of Permit to work system or other safety systems of work to control engineering activities.
- Management of capital and cost benefit analysis.
- Participation in HAZOP and design reviews
- Generate and check project engineering deliverables such as technical specifications, procurement submittals and handover documentation.
Requirements
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent trade qualification.
- 5+ years in mechanical project engineering within pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or a similar regulated industry (GMP environment preferred).
- Experience across the full project lifecycle: design, construction, commissioning, and qualification.
- Strong background in capital equipment procurement, facility upgrades, and project cost management.
- Solid understanding of mechanical systems (e.g., utilities, HVAC, process piping, clean/black utilities, capital equipment).
- Familiarity with quality management systems and change control processes.
- Ability to oversee, review, and generate project documentation and specifications.
- Strong stakeholder management, communication, and leadership skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage contractors, vendors, and cross-functional project teams.
- Proven commitment to safety and compliance.
