Duties
- Provide attentive care and support to children across different age groups, including toddlers and preschoolers, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times
- Implement developmentally appropriate curriculum plans that promote literacy, math, physical education, and social-emotional skills
- Adapt seamlessly to various classroom environments, filling in where needed to maintain continuity of learning and care
- Use effective classroom management techniques to foster positive behavior and create an inclusive, respectful atmosphere
- Collaborate with colleagues on lesson planning, assessment strategies, and individualized support for children requiring special education or early intervention services
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians about children’s progress, milestones, and any concerns
- Support the overall welfare of children by adhering to childcare standards, promoting child welfare practices, and ensuring compliance with licensing regulations
Requirements
- Prior experience working with children in educational or childcare settings, including preschool or daycare environments
- Knowledge of childhood development principles, behavior management strategies, and classroom management techniques
- Familiarity with curriculum development, lesson planning, and standardized testing methods used in early childhood education
- Experience with special education needs, early intervention programs, and literacy education approaches such as Montessori or other pedagogies
- Strong communication skills to effectively engage with children, parents, colleagues, and community partners
- Ability to work flexible hours within the 9a-6p schedule as a floater across multiple classrooms
- Certification or coursework in early childhood education or related fields is preferred; Montessori training is a plus
