Job Description
We are currently hiring a Operator Lead for 2nd Shift at our Sanford, NC facility. This is a hands-on lead position responsible for operating CNC stone fabrication equipment while helping oversee the daily workflow, quality, safety, and productivity of the 2nd shift fabrication team.
The ideal candidate has experience with CNC equipment, stone fabrication, manufacturing, or a similar production environment. CAD experience is preferred and a plus.
Responsibilities
- Lead and assist employees on the 2nd shift fabrication team.
- Assign and coordinate daily work based on production priorities.
- Use our software tracking system to locate and run programs on CNC polishing/fabrication machines.
- Set up, operate, and monitor CNC equipment.
- Assist with troubleshooting CNC programs, equipment, and production issues.
- Perform routine machine maintenance and report equipment requiring repair.
- Load and unload stone pieces using an overhead crane.
- Check pieces in and out using the company's software tracking system.
- Train and assist employees with proper machine operation and fabrication procedures.
- Monitor workflow to help ensure jobs are completed correctly and on schedule.
- Communicate production, quality, employee, and equipment issues to management.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Ensure employees follow company safety procedures, including machine safety, overhead crane operation, PPE, and silica/dust-control requirements.
- Immediately address and report unsafe working conditions or practices.
- Perform other fabrication and production duties as needed.
Position Requirements
- Previous CNC, stone fabrication, manufacturing, or similar production experience strongly preferred.
- Previous lead or supervisory experience preferred.
- CAD experience preferred.
- Ability to lead employees while also working hands-on in production.
- Must be dependable and able to work 2nd Shift, 3:00 PM–12:00 AM.
- Must have reliable transportation to our Sanford, NC facility.
- Must be able to lift up to 60 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Must be able to stand, bend, reach, and work around production equipment for extended periods.
- Must follow all company safety policies and procedures.
- Pay is based on experience.
