RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Qualified in all three ground operations: packaging, blending, and/or bulkoffloading/loading.
- Carry out all production operations as defined by the Shift Lead.
- Point of contact for the shift. Interfaces with all other departments in the plant and notifies the proper people when necessary.
- Report all accidents, upset conditions, and near misses to the Shift Lead immediately.
- Work with the Shift Lead to provide proper shift coverage. This includes vacations, illnesses, and OT.
- Provide OTJ guidance for new operators on the shift.
- Focus on plant housekeeping. Before the end of the shift all areas are free of debris and trash, equipment put away, and all containers labeled.
- Report all spills, unintended discharges to the sump, etc to the Shift Lead immediately.
- Ensure all documentation (batch sheets, loading and unloading checklists, receiving paperwork, etc) is filled out completely and correctly.
- Understanding of all alarms and the correct path forward given each alarm.
- Provide suggestions for process or equipment improvements.
- Provide recommendations on a regular basis to HSE engineers.
- Always approach your job with the principle that all incidents are preventable. To that end you need to keep the following aspects in mind:

- Risk assessment is a mindset, where you are always assessing hazards and thinking about means to avoid those hazards. Take a proactive approach to maintain excellence in all your assignments.
- Be aware of your state of mind (rushing, frustration, fatigue & complacency) that leads to distractions from the task on hand. Those distractions lead to errors resulting in unwanted incidents.
- Attend and complete all required training.
- Job completion means Good Housekeeping, filling necessary reports, and watching for your safety and those around you.
- Your Personal Protective Equipment is the most important tool you have as a professional chemical industry worker. Maintain and clean it properly.
- Participation leads to ownership. Get involved as often as you can.
REQUIREMENTS:
- High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Prior experience in a manufacturing, laboratory, and/or chemical plant environment is preferred.
- Able to clearly communicate needs and concerns inside and outside of their shift.
- Safety-minded.
- Strong interpersonal skills, able to communicate with varying functional leaders both internally and externally.
- Computer literacy, including Microsoft Office Suite.
- Good written and verbal skills.
- Ability to work in a team environment..
- Must have the ability to learn new programs and software as needed.
- Must have the ability to work under pressure and change assignments quickly.
- Must be able to communicate information with others verbally and in written forms.
- Must have basic mathematical skills.
- Basic problem-solving skills.
- Organizational skills.
- Quick and well-coordinated in the movement of the hands.
- Must read and understand written procedures (SOPs) and/or verbal instructions.
- Ability to work independently with occasional assistance.
- Ability to take ownership of general processes/products.
- The ability to meet deadlines and targets.
- Must have a basic understanding of Production Schedules.
- Must have forklift experience.
- Must be punctual and meet attendance requirements.
- Ability to work extended hours beyond normal work schedule to include, but not
- limited to, weekends, extended shifts, and/or extra shifts, sometimes on short notice.
- Available to work all shifts. SNF operates on a 24/7 basis.
- Shifts consist of 12 hours. (For example: following a “2 day on/ 2 day off/ 3 day on/2
- day off/2 days on/ 3 day off” rotation).
