You’ll play a key role in keeping our customer’s operation running smoothly by moving trailers in and out of dock areas at the Nissan Vehicle Plant.
Essential Responsibilities
- Safely move trailers in and around the Nissan Vehicle Plant dock areas
- Ensure timely flow of equipment to support production
- Perform pre‑trip inspections
- Open/close trailer doors
- Hook/unhook trailers
- Maneuver equipment with strong backing skills
- Enter/exit yard tractor multiple times per shift
- Place wheel chocks and slide tandems when needed
Qualifications
- Yard switching experience strongly recommended
- Over‑the‑road (OTR) driving experience strong recommended
- Valid Class A CDL REQUIRED
- Valid driver’s license REQUIRED
- No reckless driving convictions in the past 5 years
- No DUI convictions in the past 5 years
- No suspensions or revocations in the past 5 years
- No serious violations in the past 12 months
- No more than 3 moving violations in the past 3 years
- Tractor‑trailer or yard switching experience is a plus
Physical Requirements
- Open/Close trailer door - force requirement: 46 lbs.
- Hook/Unhook trailer - force requirement: 90 lbs.
- Perform pre-trip inspections
- Drive/Walk/Stand
- Frequent bending for placement of wheel chocks
- Safely enter/exit yard tractor multiple times per shift
- Sliding trailer tandems when necessary
- Safely maneuvering equipment with good backing skills
