American Traveler is seeking a Physical Therapist for an outpatient setting in Surprise, AZ, with at least 1 year of outpatient experience and an active AZ license required prior to start.

Outpatient physical therapy setting

Day shift, 5x8-hour schedule (8:00 AM – 4:30 PM)

Patient population includes general outpatient PT, injured workers, and work hardening cases
-
13-week contract
-
Minimum 1 year of recent outpatient physical therapy experience required

Active AZ PT license required prior to start date; proof of pending licensure acceptable for consideration

Current BLS certification required if applicable

Experience with modalities and therapeutic exercise equipment
-
Ability to perform Functional Capacity Evaluations (FCEs), Work Hardening Evaluations, and post-offer employment testing (e.g., WorkSTEPS or APET)
-
Familiarity with ergonomic evaluations and job analysis
-
Understanding of billing codes across various payer types, including workers' compensation (ACOMP)
-
Responsibilities include evaluating and treating patients via physician referral or direct access, with a focus on outpatient orthopedic and occupational health cases

Role includes supervising Physical Therapy Assistants (PTAs) and PT technicians
-
Responsibilities extend to scheduling, phone management, and taking referrals as needed
-
Weekly communication with rehab nurses and timely progress notes to referring physicians are expected

Some involvement in business development and marketing to referral sources, physicians, and case managers when patient load allows
-
Community outreach and participation in local events representing the practice may be expected
