The Director of Catering Sales is a dynamic sales leader with a passion for creating memorable experiences and building meaningful connections. Overseeing a team of four, this role is responsible for driving catering and event revenue across social, corporate, and wedding segments; serving as both a strategic leader and a hands-on seller. The ideal candidate brings creativity, commercial acumen, and a deep network within Washington, DC’s event and wedding communities.
Key Responsibilities

Lead and inspire the Catering, Conference Services, and Event Management teams to deliver flawlessly executed events and exceptional guest experiences.

Actively prospect, solicit, and develop new catering business through personal sales calls, client entertainment, and participation in local and national industry events.

Cultivate relationships with top event planners, corporate partners, and wedding professionals to strengthen the hotel’s presence in the DC market.

Demonstrate strong financial leadership by preparing accurate forecasts, establishing annual strategic plans and budgets, and maximizing revenue opportunities.

Contribute to annual commercial planning and present performance insights to senior leadership during quarterly reviews.

Partner with Sales and Marketing to develop creative event concepts and promotional offerings aligned with the hotel’s lifestyle positioning.

Ensure all departmental communication, contracts, and procedures reflect the hotel’s standards of excellence and attention to detail.
Qualifications

Minimum 7 years of progressive experience leading catering and events in a luxury or lifestyle hotel setting.

Proven track record in managing both people and budgets, with a focus on driving profitability and team success.

Strong business and financial acumen, with experience in forecasting, budgeting, and strategic planning.

Established network within the Washington, DC wedding and event community highly preferred.
