Position Summary
The Workforce Specialist/Job Coach is responsible for providing instruction, coaching, and support within vocational training programs. Working alongside the Instructor, you will guide student interns and collaborate with host business mentors. You’ll support individuals with disabilities as they integrate into internship settings or competitive employment.
Key responsibilities include:
- Identifying interns’ strengths, interests, and abilities for career counseling, job development, and placement
- Building and maintaining relationships with community employers to create training and employment opportunities
- Engaging employers through phone calls, in-person meetings, and appropriate social media platforms
- Determining necessary supports or adaptations to ensure training and employment success
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in education, rehabilitative science, business, or related field OR
- Associate degree or equivalent combination of college and experience working directly with individuals with developmental disabilities
- Preferred: 3+ years of experience in business, education, social/behavioral/rehabilitative services, especially with individuals with disabilities
- Must pass criminal background and drug screenings
