We are looking for an Assistant Event Coordinator to plan and organize events ranging from Weddings, Birthdays, Anniversaries, Religious Gatherings, Corporate Events, & more. An event coordinator must be well-organized, competent, and have great customer service skills. Communication skills and attention to detail will set apart the best among the candidates. Must have enthusiasm and passion for the hospitality industry and you’ll be our ideal candidate.
Responsibilities
- Generate leads using social media marketing, and other forms of advertising
- Respond to leads via phone and email
- Give site tours of the venue
- Contract negotiation - basic math skills are required.
- Main point of contact throughout the planning process
- Direct and assist staff with event set up
- Do final checks at the day of the event (e.g. tables, decor) to ensure everything meets standards
- Oversee event happenings, follow timeline to ensure event runs smoothly
- Miscellaneous office work
Skills
- Minimum of 2 years experience in the wedding and event industry (Event Coordinator, Banquet Captain, etc.)
- Proficient in MS Office
- Outstanding communication skills
- Well-organized with multi-tasking skills
- Able to handle stress and remain calm
- Problem-solving ability
Details
- 20-40 hours per week - opportunity for more hours during peak season
- Job requires consistent office hours during the week and weekend hours (evenings) based on scheduled events.
- Ability to lift a minimum of 25lbs is required
Job Types: Part-time, Full-time
Pay: $19.00 - $22.00 per hour
Education:
- High school or equivalent (Preferred)
Experience:
- Banquet experience: 2 years (Required)
