The Minnesota Sex Offender Program (MSOP) is a residential, sex offense specific treatment program in a modified therapeutic community and secure setting that provides services to over 700 individuals who have been civilly committed for sexual offending. MSOP is a national leader in the industry and is committed to providing services on the leading edge of the comprehensive evaluation, treatment, and management of clients. MSOP has facilities in Moose Lake and St. Peter, MN.
The Minnesota Sex Offender Program (MSOP) is seeking an individual to join our team for an exciting and rewarding opportunity as a Forensic Evaluator. In this role you will provide comprehensive risk assessments, research, and forensic consultation in the specialized field of civilly committed sexual offenders to the Minnesota Sex Offender Program.
As an independent, highly competent, specialized psychologist in this role your responsibilities will include:
- Selects and administers assessments, conducts clinical interviews and/or mental status examinations, and completes evaluations

Consults and provides testimony to the Minnesota Commitment Appeal Panel and Special Review Board hearings

Provides specialized and technical consultation to the courts, attorneys, and other professionals

Provides sophisticated problem-solving skills when providing consultations, as well as mentoring and educational experiences to unlicensed psychologists to enhance department’s overall clinical skills

Provides mentoring, clinical supervision and training to unlicensed psychologists
As a Forensic Evaluator, you may be eligible for a work arrangement of either telework or remote designation.

Ph.D. or Psy.D. in Clinical or Forensic Psychology
-
Licensed Psychologist (LP) or be licensed eligible in the state of MN.
- 1 yr of post licensed work experience in a forensic or correctional setting using evidenced-based treatment approaches and the application of comprehensive psychological services (e.g., psychological evaluation, crisis intervention).

Competency in administration and interpretation of instruments utilized in forensic evaluations.
- Competence and experience in testifying and completing court-ordered evaluations as well as knowledge of mental health case law is highly preferred.
