American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with travel experience and Draeger vent proficiency for a 13-week night shift contract at a Level II Trauma acute care hospital in Bridgeport, CT.

Short-term acute care hospital with 426 staffed beds, part of the Yale New Haven Health System

Level II Trauma Center
-
Respiratory therapy unit with rotation through all areas of the hospital, including NICU and Pediatric units, based on census and staffing needs
-
Night shift schedule: 4x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM–7:30 AM)
-
Every other weekend required
-
Holiday coverage required

Float between main campus and Milford campus as needed

Charting via Epic (experience required)

Free parking on site

Current RRT or CRT certification required
-
Active state respiratory therapy license required if applicable

BLS required
-
Minimum 2 years of respiratory therapy experience

Level II Trauma Center experience required
-
Draeger ventilator experience required
-
Prior travel assignment experience required
-
NICU experience preferred but not required
-
Must live more than 75 miles from the facility to qualify for travel rates; local candidates are not eligible for this position

Travelers may be asked to orient students or new hires as needed

Travelers are expected to rotate through all hospital units, including NICU and Pediatric, based on census and staffing needs

NICU experience working with neonatal oscillating vents and high-frequency jet vents is a plus
-
Flu vaccine is required; declinations are not accepted
-
COVID vaccine with booster required; religious and medical exemptions are accepted
-
Former permanent staff must have a gap of at least 2 years before being considered as a traveler
-
Up to 7 days of RTO may be approved; all RTO requests must be finalized prior to offer acceptance, as additional RTO will not be approved after acceptance

Travelers are expected to participate in natural disaster or emergency response activities if called upon
