Duties/Responsibilities:
- Maintains compliance with Resident Rights and HIPAA policies at all times

Provides residents with assistance for personal needs according to the support/care plan including, but not limited to toileting, bathing, dressing, grooming, mobility, transfers, meals, laundry, cleaning and activities

Always practices patience, compassion, and empathy in all interactions with the residents.
- Focuses on resident’s abilities and provides social/emotional support

Promotes improved quality of life for residents through person centered care

Utilizes standard precautions and follows infection control procedures

Observes and informs supervisor immediately of any changes in a resident’s health/condition
-
Reports immediately any unusual events such as abuse/neglect, or emergency situations

Reports maintenance needs promptly while taking appropriate safety precautions to minimize risk of injury to resident and staff

Practices proper body mechanics and safe handling techniques

Implements and supports resident’s care plan

Monitor and document temperatures, appetite, intake and output as assigned. Weigh residents and record outcomes.

Able to use transfer equipment for both resident safety as well as your own: sit to stand lifts, mechanical lifts, and in bed transfers, gait belts, and bath lifts if applicable

Review daily reports on assigned residents regarding condition and required care

Completes a walk through to ensure job completion with relief staff

Adheres to all policies and procedures of The Gardens of Mount Peasant

Maintains professional approach to responsibilities such as uniform policy, start times, absenteeism, confidentiality, communication with residents, family members, other staff members, vendors, and daily work responsibilities

May perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor as needed, within the scope of the Resident Assistant position
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Use time effectively to accomplish assigned cares for residents

Demonstrates teamwork by communicating with other staff, actively working to resolve problems and lending assistance to other facility staff

Must be able to function independently and possess strong personal integrity

Able to work with the residents with various health conditions, including but not limited to physical disabilities, mental health, medical health issues
Education and Experience:
- Must be at least 18 years old

CBRF or CNA license (required)
