This position supports the work of the YMCA of the Rockies, Snow Mountain Ranch, which operates a mission-based family and group conference and retreat center, serving more than 150,000 annually. The Assistant Front of House Manager is responsible for assisting the FOH Manager with overall day-to-day operations in all Front of the House Food Service common areas, banquet dining halls, and dining rooms, including customer service, training, and supervising all staff. During peak season, this position’s main duties will be in the Buckboard FOH operation. Other duties include dining room and restroom cleanliness, labelling food items, updating the daily menu board, administrative duties, and ensuring all serving line equipment is clean and functioning properly.

Maintain a neat, clean, professional appearance and presentation
Emphasis on guest/client experience and overall guest interaction – bringing the mission to the guest
Work holidays, weekends, and morning or evening shifts
Operational knowledge of a wide variety of food service equipment, including espresso machines
Supervise up to 35 staff – Assist with oversight of all front of house staff in Commons, Skinny Ski, Buckboard
Build and maintain Buckboard front of house staff with a guest relationships/interaction focus
Train front of house on proper use and cleaning of the espresso machine, and ensure quality production of coffee drinks
Train and monitor all cash handling procedures within the department
Supervise cold/hot food preparation and presentation for assigned dining rooms
Work with Front of House Manager to schedule, train, and evaluate seasonal staff
Assist with invoicing, expense tracking, timecard monitoring, staff credentials, etc.
Assist in building and maintaining a banquet team of up to 8 for our catered and special events
Lead front of house setup and breakdown at all catered and special events
Assist the Front of House Manager to ensure proper setup and execution of catered and special events
Assist the Front of House Manager to host, instruct, and grade up to 4 internship equivalent staff at a time
REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:
Have a minimum of a year of managerial experience in the front of house of a high-volume food service operation
Minimum one year of front-of-house banquet experience
ServSafe Certification – Or able to complete upon hiring
Leadership by example mentality
