What You Will Be Doing:
The Permanent Fund Dividend Division (PFD) is seeking a talented and motivated individual to join our software development team to help advance the division’s future goals by expanding and improving services for the public, partner agencies, and internal technicians. The successful candidate will design, code, test, debug, document, implement, and maintain software solutions that support the PFD application and distribution processes, while contributing to projects that upgrade or replace legacy systems and introduce new applications. Our teams work with modern technologies including .NET Core and ASP.NET MVC with C#, SQL Server and Azure SQL, Visual Studio with Azure DevOps, React and other web technologies, Azure native resources, Power BI and SQL reporting services, ILINX Capture for document imaging, and Azure Data Factory and Databricks.

The Working Environment You Can Expect:
This position is located on the 11th floor of the State Office Building in downtown Juneau in the PFD’s largest office or in downtown Anchorage across from the Atwood Building in the LPPG. Our workspace has an open floor plan that allows natural light into all cubicles. We also offer a hybrid schedule for those that would like to remote part of the week and in the office part of the week.

Analyst/Programmer 1
Successful completion of nine (9) semester hours of college-level coursework in computer languages or system analysis.
OR
Three months of actual computer programming experience.
OR
One year of work experience using a computer for analysis, including experience in the use of computer reporting languages, spreadsheets, or statistical packages.
Analyst/Programmer 2
One year of computer programming experience in a recognized computer language. One year of the experience must have been in a business application, scientific application, microcomputer or computer system user support specialty.
Substitution:
A bachelor's degree with a major in Computer Science (CS) or Computer Information Systems (CIS), or a related degree with (18) semester/(24) quarter hours of CS or CIS may substitute for all of the required experience. An associate's degree in Computer Science or Computer Information Systems may substitute for nine months of the required experience.
Analyst/Programmer 3
Two years of computer programming experience in a recognized computer language. One year of this experience must have been in a business application, scientific application, microcomputer or computer information management support specialty.
Substitution:
A bachelor's degree with a major in Computer Science (CS) or Computer Information Systems (CIS), or a related degree with (18) semester/(24) quarter hours of CS or CIS may substitute for one year of the required experience. An associate's degree in Computer Science or Computer Information Systems may substitute for nine months of the required experience.
Special Note:
An applicant who will complete the required college-level coursework within three (3) months of hire qualifies to apply for this job class. An applicant qualifying under this option may receive a job offer conditional upon completion of the required college-level coursework and proof of completion will be required prior to final appointment and reporting for duty.
Individual positions at each level in this class series may require expertise in a particular area of programming or analysis. Recruitment and selection will be on the basis of these requirements.
For some positions in these job classes, a background investigation including fingerprinting is required.
