In home Respite position with AltaCal Regional Center clients. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of a local family while gaining valuable experience in healthcare, behavioral sciences and client support.
The clients are 17 and 23yrs old; my 17 yr old daughter who is very sweet and mostly nonverbal, is the main client. My son lives a few blocks away, is a very shy gamer type and does not interact with others very often. We need help in the mornings.
flexible schedule, paid online training
we need help 1-3 mornings/week: 2days/week (730-230); 1day/week (8-2)
Ideal candidate will be female, 18+, a good communicator, calm and friendly, able to complete CPR training and pass a LiveScan. Experience supporting autistic individuals is useful.

Duties
- Provide attentive, personalized care to clients with developmental needs, ensuring their safety, dignity and comfort during respite
- Assist with daily activities such as following a schedule, establishing healthy routine
- making PB and J sands, getting juice and crackers, heating up soup or chicken nuggets
- Support clients with enrichment and co-regulation activities that are beneficial; including breathing techniques, affirmations, and staging craft projects
- follow a behavioral plan
- Respond promptly to emergencies or urgent concerns
- Willingness to learn Crisis Management techniques
- Solid communication skills for effective collaboration
