Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and efficient Day Kitchen Prep Cook/Dishwasher to join our culinary team. Duties
- Wash, sanitize, and organize dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment following established health and safety guidelines
- Assist with basic food preparation tasks as needed, including ingredient handling and meal assembly
- Support the kitchen staff by maintaining cleanliness of workstations and storage areas
- Ensure proper disposal of waste and recyclables in accordance with facility policies
- Follow all food safety procedures to prevent contamination and ensure a safe dining environment
- Assist with inventory management by notifying supervisors of supplies that need replenishing
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment by adhering to sanitation standards throughout shifts
Qualifications
- Previous experience in food service, restaurant work, or culinary environments is preferred
- Knowledge of food handling safety protocols and sanitation procedures
- Familiarity with menu planning, meal preparation, and basic cooking techniques is advantageous
- Strong knife skills and experience with food industry standards are desirable
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to follow instructions accurately
- Prior dietary department or dietary aide experience is a plus but not required
- Ability to work as part of a team with a positive attitude toward serving others
