Position Summary
We are seeking a professional, organized, and customer-focused Optometric Receptionist to join our busy eye care practice. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, possess excellent communication skills, and demonstrate the ability to multitask while providing exceptional patient service. Proficiency in our practice management software is required, along with the ability to efficiently direct patients and support daily office operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly and provide a positive first impression of the practice.
- Check patients in and out for appointments.
- Answer and direct incoming phone calls in a professional and courteous manner.
- Schedule, confirm, and manage patient appointments.
- Verify patient demographics and insurance information.
- Utilize the practice management software accurately and efficiently for scheduling, patient records, billing support, and communication.
- Direct patients throughout the office and coordinate patient flow to ensure timely service.
- Respond to patient inquiries and resolve routine concerns.
- Process payments and maintain accurate financial records.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
- Assist with administrative tasks, scanning, filing, and record management.
- Collaborate with doctors, technicians, and optical staff to ensure smooth office operations.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous medical, optometric, ophthalmology, or healthcare reception experience preferred.
- Proficiency with the practice management software and general computer applications.
- Strong multitasking and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize competing demands.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a busy, fast-paced environment.
