Duties
- Greet guests warmly and present menus confidently, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere from the moment they arrive
- Take accurate food and beverage orders using POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS, ensuring all special requests are noted
- Serve food and drinks promptly while maintaining high standards of presentation and cleanliness
- Upsell menu items and specials to enhance guest satisfaction and increase sales opportunities
- Manage guest relations by addressing questions, resolving concerns, and ensuring an enjoyable dining experience
- Handle cash transactions accurately, including cash handling and cashiering responsibilities, while adhering to sanitation and food safety protocols
- Assist with food preparation, bussing tables, and maintaining cleanliness in dining areas to support overall restaurant operations
Qualifications
- Previous experience in food service or restaurant environments, especially in fine dining or nightlife settings such as nightclubs or upscale restaurants
- Strong knowledge of POS systems including Aloha POS and Micros POS; familiarity with OpenTable for reservations is a plus
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to engage guests positively and professionally
- Culinary experience or understanding of food handling, sanitation, and basic food preparation techniques
- Effective time management skills to handle multiple tables efficiently during busy hours
- Ability to upsell menu items confidently to maximize sales opportunities
- Basic math skills for cash handling, billing accuracy, and inventory management
- Prior host/hostess or serving experience preferred; familiarity with food industry standards for sanitation and safety
