Signature Group is seeking experienced Heavy Equipment Operators to join our civil concrete construction team. We are looking for dependable individuals who take pride in their craft, communicate well with others, and understand that successful projects are built by crews working together.
This is a hands-on position responsible for operating heavy equipment and supporting concrete construction activities. The ideal candidate is safety-focused, dependable, and willing to work as part of a team to complete projects efficiently and with quality workmanship.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate excavators, backhoes, loaders, skid steers, compactors, and other heavy equipment
- Perform excavation, grading, trenching, backfilling, and site preparation for concrete construction projects
- Assist the concrete crew as needed to support daily operations and project completion
- Conduct daily equipment inspections and report maintenance or repair needs
- Maintain assigned equipment in a clean and serviceable condition
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures
- Communicate effectively with Foremen, Superintendents, and crew members
- Work safely around personnel, equipment, utilities, traffic, and other jobsite hazards
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Previous experience operating heavy equipment in a construction environment
- Experience in industrial, civil, or commercial concrete construction
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings
- Ability and willingness to work both in and out of equipment
- Strong commitment to safety, teamwork, and quality work
- Reliable transportation and dependable attendance
- Ability to perform physically demanding work outdoor construction environment in varying weather conditions
- Current TWIC card preferred
- Must pass pre-employment drug and alcohol screening and be subject to random testing
- Must successfully complete a criminal background check
