Responsibilities
- Safely operate tractor-trailers with manual transmissions across long-distance routes, adhering strictly to DOT (Department of Transportation) and FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations.
- Transport refrigerated freight coast-to-coast, ensuring cargo remains at optimal temperatures throughout transit.
- Load and unload freight using proper manual handling techniques and equipment such as forklifts when necessary.
- Manage GPS navigation systems to follow efficient routes, adjusting plans as needed for traffic or weather conditions.
- Collaborate with dispatch teams to coordinate pickups, deliveries, and route adjustments for maximum efficiency.
Requirements
- Valid CDL (Commercial Driver’s License) with a clean driving record.
- Proven 2 year experience in commercial truck driving, including route driving and freight handling.
- Proficiency in operating manual transmission trucks and familiarity with refrigerated trailers.
- Knowledge of logistics cargo handling, load & unload procedures, and hazardous materials regulations if applicable.
- Ability to navigate using GPS navigation systems effectively during long-haul trips.
- Strong understanding of FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations and DOT (Department of Transportation) safety standards.
