Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Welder/Fitter to join our construction and manufacturing team. This role involves performing precise welding and fitting tasks to assemble, install, and maintain piping systems, sprinkler systems, and various structural components. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong understanding of welding techniques, blueprint interpretation, and mechanical assembly, ensuring all work complies with safety regulations and industry standards. Responsibilities
- Interpret technical drawings, schematics, and construction plans to accurately execute welding and fitting tasks.
- Perform MIG (Metal Inert Gas), TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas), FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), and pipe welding using appropriate techniques for various materials.
- Fabricate, assemble, and install piping systems, including pipe threading, tube bending, and pipe fitting in accordance with ASME codes & standards.
- Read blueprints and schematics to determine dimensions, materials, and procedures for pipe installation and fabrication.
- Use hand tools, power tools, calipers, and other measuring instruments to ensure precise assembly and alignment.
- Maintain safety protocol adherence by following NFPA standards, OSHA regulations, and site-specific safety procedures.
- Conduct routine maintenance on equipment and perform soldering or other specialized tasks as needed.
- Collaborate with team members on construction site projects involving sprinkler systems, HVAC piping, or pipeline installation.
- Assist in rigging operations for lifting heavy components safely during assembly or installation.
- Ensure all work meets quality standards through inspection and testing in accordance with industry regulations.
Skills
- Proficiency in MIG welding, TIG welding, FCAW welding, and pipe welding techniques.
- Strong ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and construction plans accurately.
- Mechanical knowledge of pipefitting, fabrication processes, plumbing systems, and sprinkler system installation.
- Experience with hand tools, power tools, calipers, schematics reading, and pipe threading equipment.
- Knowledge of ASME codes & standards as well as NFPA standards related to fire sprinkler fitting and piping systems.
- Familiarity with construction site safety protocols including OSHA regulations and power tool safety practices.
- Basic math skills for measurements and calculations necessary for fabrication tasks.
- Ability to work efficiently in manufacturing or construction environments while maintaining high safety standards.
- Previous experience in HVAC systems or pipeline projects is advantageous.
- Strong teamwork skills with the ability to interpret technical instructions clearly.
