Job Summary
Join our dynamic team as a Non-Emergency Medical Transportation (NEMT) Dispatcher, where you'll be the vital link ensuring smooth, efficient, and reliable transportation services for clients requiring medical or non-emergency travel. Duties
- Coordinate and dispatch transportation requests promptly using vehicle dispatch software and transportation management systems such as Oracle Transportation Management and AS400.
- Manage real-time GPS and GIS data to monitor vehicle locations, optimize routing, and ensure timely pickups and drop-offs.
- Communicate effectively via phone calls and internal messaging platforms to assign drivers, confirm schedules, and handle client inquiries with professionalism and courtesy.
- Maintain accurate data entry of trip details, client information, and driver logs while adhering to DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations for safety and compliance.
- Oversee fleet management activities including scheduling vehicle maintenance, tracking freight movements, and coordinating with third-party logistics (3PL) providers for shipping & receiving operations.
- Support supply chain logistics by analyzing transportation routes, identifying efficiencies, and implementing improvements in road transportation operations.
- Foster excellent internal communication among team members to ensure seamless dispatching processes and quick resolution of any issues that arise during daily operations.
Experience
- Proven experience in transportation planning, dispatching, or logistics within a fleet management or road transportation environment.
- Familiarity with transportation management systems such as Oracle Transportation Management or similar platforms like AS400.
- Strong knowledge of GIS (Geographic Information Systems), GPS technology, and route optimization tools to enhance dispatch efficiency.
- Demonstrated ability to manage phone calls professionally using phone etiquette while handling multiple inquiries simultaneously.
- Experience working within supply chain operations or freight/shipping & receiving environments is highly desirable.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced setting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) for documentation and reporting purposes; typing skills are essential for quick data entry.
- Knowledge of DOT regulations related to road transportation operations ensures safety compliance at all times.
