Kennel Manager – Full or Part Time
At our small, family-owned kennel facility, we provide exceptional care for dogs while their owners are away. As our Kennel Manager, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the well-being of our furry guests. You will oversee the daily operations of the kennel and provide hands-on care for dogs. This position requires experience working with animals in a professional setting, strong communication skills, and a passion for providing excellent customer service.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations of the kennel facility, ensuring the well-being and safety of all dogs in our care.
- Communicate effectively with staff and owners regarding dog care and any concerns.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards throughout kennels, play areas, and common areas.
- Monitor and document the health and behavior of animals; administer medications as needed.
- Provide bathing and brushing services as part of routine kennel care.
- Provide exercise and enrichment activities for dogs.
- Handle paperwork for upcoming reservations.
- Check dogs in and out, answer client questions, and provide exceptional customer service.
- Answer phones professionally and book reservations.
- Clean and sanitize indoor and outdoor runs.
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum of 1 year work experience in a dog care facility or similar animal care environment.
- Ability to handle dogs of various sizes and temperaments safely and confidently.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Must be available to work most holidays, some weekends, and occasional nights.
- Professional references required.
- Experience in dog training or behavior modification is desirable but not required — we are happy to teach our methods to the right candidate.
