Job Summary
We are looking for courteous and qualified candidates with CDL-A endorsements and their own tractor to come and work with us hauling ocean containers.
The ideal candidates will possess a strong commitment to safety and efficiency while transporting goods across various routes. As an Owner Operator, you will be responsible for managing your own vehicle and ensuring timely delivery of freight while adhering to all regulations and company policies.
Duties
- Operate your own tractor-trailers in compliance with all traffic laws and regulations.
- Plan and execute efficient route driving to ensure timely deliveries.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance with regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, vehicle maintenance, and hours of service.
- Communicate effectively with our dispatcher regarding delivery schedules and any potential issues.
- Adhere to all local, state, and federal transportation laws and regulations.
- Manage your own business operations including maintenance scheduling, fuel management, and compliance documentation.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL A) and TWIC Card. Hazmat endorsement Preferred
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a CDL truck driver.
- Clean driving record with no history of major accidents or traffic violations.
- Knowledge of and adherence to all federal and state transportation regulations.
- Provide Insurance with SK2 Services Inc as an additional insurer.
- Ability to operate and maintain commercial vehicles safely and effectively.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills for managing paperwork and logs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for working with dispatchers, customers, and team members.
- Familiarity with GPS navigation systems and route planning software.
- Willingness to work flexible hours and adapt to changing schedules.
- Professional and customer-oriented attitude.
- No DUI convictions in CMV.
- No DUI convictions in non-CMV in 5 years.
- No driver's license suspensions within the last 2 years (consideration for recent Medical Certification issues).
- No serious at-fault accidents resulting in major damage or bodily injury within 2 years.
