In this energetic role, you will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining glass, windows, doors, and related fixtures across a variety of commercial and residential projects. Your craftsmanship will help create safe, beautiful environments while ensuring projects are completed efficiently and to the highest standards. - Install glass panels, windows, doors, and custom glazing solutions using hand tools and power tools.
- Read blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings to accurately execute installation plans.
- Operate heavy equipment as needed for large-scale projects or specialized installations.
- Perform construction site inspections to ensure safety compliance and quality standards are maintained throughout each phase of work.
- Use construction management software such as Bluebeam to review plans, document progress, and communicate updates effectively.
- Apply caulking, sealing, and weatherproofing techniques to ensure durability and energy efficiency of installations.
- Collaborate with project managers, carpenters, masons, electricians, plumbers, and other tradespeople to coordinate tasks seamlessly on-site. Experience
- Proven experience in glass installation or general construction site work is preferred.
- Familiarity with blueprint reading, schematics interpretation, and technical drawings is essential.
- Hands-on experience with hand tools, power tools, scaffolding, and heavy equipment operation is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of construction estimating, inspection procedures, and project management practices will set candidates apart.
- Skills in related trades such as carpentry (frame carpentry, door hanging), masonry (concrete finishing), roofing (shingles or flat roof systems), or remodeling are advantageous.
- Ability to work safely at heights and in various weather conditions while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills coupled with a proactive attitude toward learning new techniques in glass fabrication and installation.
