You will be working in an inspection room, measuring finished machined components typically made out of steel alloys & other similar materials. You will be using calipers, micrometers, indicators, comparators, & other inspection tools, and then recording the results using computer software to produce the FAIR - First Article Inspection Report. You will be reviewing documentation and uploading into the server for delivery to our clients. You will also be responsible for completing occasional in-progress checks for components being produced on the production floor, along with the first articles being submitted for inspection by machinists.
SCHEDULE: Full Time – 40 hours weekly
SHIFT TIME: 6:00am to 3:15pm Monday to Thursday, 6:00am to 11:00am Friday. Occasional overtime including Saturday may be requested depending on the workload.
PAY RANGE: $22-26/hr depending on experience and training needed
REQUIREMENTS:
· 2-5 years of mechanical inspection experience, preferably in an aerospace facility.
· Experience using inspection tools such as micrometers, calipers, dial tests, indicators, optical comparators, etc.
· Experience calibrating shop gauges and tools.
· Must be able to read, interpret, and work from engineering prints, drawings, and sketches and associated travelers.
· Must be capable of efficiently performing First Article, In Process and Final Inspections on machined components with high accuracy.
· Be able to inspect machined components quickly with high quality and accuracy.
· Computer literacy is a must.
· Strong math skills (Algebra, Trigonometry, Geometry).
· Must have good English speaking, reading, and writing skills and demonstrate the ability to clearly communicate in English; have the ability to understand and follow both verbal and written instruction.
PREFERRED SKILLS:
· ISO9000 or AS9100 experience is a plus.
· CMM programming & functionality is a major plus
· Gear cutting and inspection knowledge is a plus, but not required.
· GD&T understanding is highly preferred.
The QC Inspector is responsible for the quality of work that the shop produces as well as calibration of the company equipment. QC Inspectors will inspect the parts produced by employees of Marples Gears and work closely with management and employees to ensure quality product is delivered to customers in a timely manner.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Use common mechanical inspection equipment to perform first piece inspections, first articles and final inspections on partially machined and fully machined components per company and aerospace standards.
· Perform daily in process dimensional inspections on work in process for employees.
· Complete all paperwork in conformance to aerospace standards and QMS.
· Calibrate measuring equipment as required.
· Interact with management, manufacturing and shipping personnel to move work in process through the shop according to work order planning.
