Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Forklift Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate must be able to fully troubleshoot, diagnose, and make necessary repairs to keep customer forklift units' downtime at a minimum. The individual hired for this position will be expected to perform work effeciently and independently, and have a proven track record of completing repairs in a timely manner while minimizing customer call-backs.
Responsibilities
- Perform mechanical repairs and maintenance on customer forklifs and trade-in units
- Perform "make ready" procedures on brand new units received from manufacturer
- Inspect equipment parts for damage or wear, and replace as needed
- Complete routine service tasks such as oil changes, filter replacements, and tire rotations
- Troubleshoot hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems
- Ensure all work is performed in compliance with safety regulations
Skills
- Mechanical knowledge to diagnose and repair equipment issues
- Proficiency in troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing diesel powered equipment
- Proficiency in troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing propane powered equipment
- Proficiency in troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing hydraulic systems
- MINIMUM 6 years Experience with forklift service
- Proficiency in forklift operation
- Knowledge of hydraulic systems and their functions
- Previous experience as a service technician or mechanic in heavy equipment operations
Pay: $24.00 - $37.00 per hour
