Job Summary
Life Care Center of Burlington is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our healthcare team as a Staff Nurse during night shifts. Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care to patients, including vital signs assessment, medication administration, and wound care.
- Monitor patient conditions closely, recognizing changes that require escalation or intervention.
- Assist with diagnostic evaluations, specimen collection, and medical documentation using electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Administer treatments such as IV infusions, catheterizations, and injections while adhering to aseptic techniques and safety protocols.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans aligned with long-term care regulations and best practices.
- Educate patients and their families on health management strategies, including dementia care, Alzheimer's support, pain management, and medication adherence.
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA confidentiality policies and ensure accurate documentation of all patient interactions in electronic health records.
- Support emergency response efforts by managing airway issues, providing first aid, and utilizing CPR skills when necessary.
Qualifications
- Valid state licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).
- Proven experience in various healthcare settings such as skilled nursing facilities, hospitals (including ICU or trauma centers), assisted living communities, or home care environments.
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth for medical documentation.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and clinical procedures including venipuncture and sterile processing techniques.
- Experience working with geriatric patients or individuals with developmental disabilities is highly desirable.
- Certification in basic life support (BLS) or CPR is required; additional certifications in IV infusion or hospice care are advantageous.
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients of diverse backgrounds while demonstrating compassion and professionalism.
